What is Twitter?

Tweet? Twit? Twhat???

Still confused about the whole Twitter buzz?

Twitter is a very special kind of social media. It’s kind of like the “in between” of daily activities. Yes, while it may seem like you’re getting to know alot of people a little bit too close, Twitter has it’s benefits.

Say you are trying to spread the word about your new product to as many people as possible. No other social media tool will allow you to have a limit-less amount of followers. . . let me say that again. . . LIMIT-LESS! So hypathetically, you could have 1,000,000,000 (one billion) followers!!! While I know this would take ALOT of effort and time, the fact remains that it’s possible.

Twitter is really handy when it comes to keeping an eye on your brand and reputation. You can keep up with what everyone’s saying about not only your brand, but you as well! Of course there are some gadgets and programs that don’t come free with a new account, look in the right places and you can find a program for just about anything!

Hope that gave a little insight on Twitter and what it could potentially do for you. :-)

Facebook Tip #1

Obviously Facebook is one of the most popular (if not the most) social media sites to this day. In saying that, it is CRUCIAL that you know how to use it to the most of your abilities to grow and expand your business!

The tip i’m about to show you is very simple and VERY effective.

When setting up a profile never forget that evey person that visits could become a potential customer. Which means you have to think about what they are looking for. . . A SMILING FACE!!!

That’s right! You better have a nice smiling picture of you up there looking friendly and approachable if you want to attract as many people as possible. Think about it, would you really want to do business with someone who had a “suggestive” photo, or was using illegal substances?? I would hope not. . .

While the profile picture displays YOU; you still want it to appeal most of all to your target audience.

Stay tuned for the next Facebook tip!! =)

Social Media for dummies :)

Ok, so I was wondering around the internet (i’m sure you’ve done that before), and found a pretty interesting video. In fact it was SO interesting, that i decided to share it with YOU!! Haha don’t you feel special?

It’s about social media. More specifically, it explains what social media is using ice cream in “Scoopville” (you’ll understand in a few) as an example. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! =)

So you’re STILL not convinced that a Social Media Manager would surely help your business? It’s okay. Honestly, I’m proud of you for actually taking the time to research enough to make an educated decision.

1.      Besides the obvious fact that you would have SO much more time to put into your business, doing so will allow you to connect and create more “depth” (a deeper connection) with customers. This will create more loyal customers who love your business and trust me, you WANT loyal customers!

2.      SMM’s specialize in staying up to date with all the different social media avenues that could potentially promote and grow your business

3.      80% of Twitter usage is outside of Twitter…people update anywhere, anytime…imagine what that means for bad customer experiences?

4.      SMM’s are the “First line of defense” in the sense that they watch for any angry or upset customers who may just want to be heard. Making sure that small issues like these get taken care of can save your business A LOT of trouble down the road AND obviously bring in more business!

5.      SMM’s will do all the dirty work while YOU reap all the rewards. To the public you seem like an excellent time-managed person who truly cares about your customers.

6.      They can make sure your message is heard to a broader viewer base. . . they more people that hear about you, the more customers you’ll have!

7.      90% of consumers trust peer recommendations

What is a Social Media Manager?

You mean you have heard?! Social media had obviously become one of the most used and well known resources for people today. Honestly, who do you know that does NOT have a Facebook OR Twitter account. . . that’s what I thought.

A Social Media Manager (SMM) is someone who specializes in “managing” a small/large business’ online presence. Think about this, how many commercials have you seen here lately where a business told you to check them out on Facebook, or read their blog? . . . Yea, A LOT! And with the ever increasing competition for viewers time and support, companies really have to know what they’re doing online in order to be successful. Which often times means dedicating a lot of time and effort into doing everything themselves . . . that’s where a SMM comes in.

If you own or operate a business of ANY size and want to take the next step in creating a real online presence that will bring in business like never before, you may want to consider letting someone else do all the work for you . . . while you get all the credit (doesn’t that sound nice?).

P.S.- If you’re considering a SMM but still want more info, check out “10 reasons you need a Social Media Manager.”
